¡Esta semana tenemos examenes! ¡Buena suerte! This week is exam week! Good luck! Remember the semester exam makes up 20% of your Spanish 1 semester grade so do your best. The exam will be 40 multiple choice vocabulary/reading questions and 60 fill in the blank grammar and conjugation questions.
There are lots of worksheets, powerpoints, and notes for you to use to study on the Teague Spanish website. And here are some more resources to help you prepare for the exam:
Thanks to Erica for this powerpoint to to review/practice you verb charts – conjugationslideshow
Quia Games to practice vocabulary and verb conjugations:
I will have all of your blogs graded by the end of the week. I am very pleased at the quality and effort that most of your are putting toward your blogs! It shows! I have enjoyed reading them. This is a project that will continue for the rest of the year so some of you will still need to get “caught up” with the requirements of this project. Other are ready to start customizing their blogs. Remember you can include any content on your blogs that is Spanish related. Here are some fun features you can play with if you’d like:
1. First step is to download this edublogs-tutorial to see how to add pictures, videos, powerpoints, voice recordings, etc. to your blog.
2. After you know how to add media to your blog you can explore some of these sites for fun things you can add to posts or to your side bar.
***If you do not have or do not want to use your personal email to sign up for any of these sites please see me and I will give you an email to use.****
Create and add a powerpoint to your blog or embed one of mine: First upload your powerpoimt to www.slideshare.net then embed the powerpoint into a blog post.
Add Funny Spanish videos like “First Semester of Spanish Love song” or “Conjugations Back” from Teachertube (use the “embed without search engine” option) or edublogs.tv (Youtube will not work at school nor do I recommend you use it) or feature cultural videos like this:
Here are the things you should be working on in the lab for the next two days:
Go to your previous posting with the gustar survey and double check spelling and grammar. Make changes as needed. I will start grading these this week.
Proof read your paragraph describing yourself, your likes and dislikes, etc. Make sure you check for the following: adjectives match your subject (ex. “Soy alta.” for a girl but…”Soy alto” for a boy), match your gusta/n with the item that is being liked, use variety in your sentences with words such as “y” “o” “también” and “porque” (not just lists of adjectives for example).
Post your paragraph to your blog – title the posting “Yo soy…”
Look at or print these instructions to add a “Voki” speaking avatar to your blog. You can only do this AFTER you have done the previous posting and it has been approved by me. Make your Voki Instructions
When you have posted your Voki you can start on your postings for Chapter 2. See or print this document for the journal topics. Ch 2 and 3 Blog Journal Topics
Hola.
This week we will be starting chapter 2. We will be reviewing important concepts like the verb “ser” and subject pronouns. These are two VERY IMPORTANT concepts that you must master before you are able to move on to other concepts. Please review the powerpoints about “ser” and “subject pronouns” in previous posts if you need to.
This chapter you will learning how to describe yourself and talk about your likes. In class we will be practicing the vocabulary the first part of the week but you MUST also practice it on your own! This week you need to complete either 1 hour of online activities (Quia or Wordchamp) or 50 points of Vocabman IN ADDITION to any homework assigned. That is only 15 minutes of vocab practice a night! This is due on Friday, October 17th. Late work is not accepted for this assignment. There will be a QUIZ on Friday on the material studied.
Please see the attached instructions for details on the online assignments. quia-instructions-4th-hour quia-instructions-5th-hour quia-instructions-6th-hour
Don’t forget!!! On Monday you need to have your vocabulary list printed (or copied from the book) for Chapter 2 and Vocabulario 1 flashcards (English on one side and Spanish on the other).
